Job Description:

The Boeing Company is looking for an Executive Legal Counsel to be stationed in Riyadh and act as Boeing's primary legal representative in Saudi Arabia. The Legal Counsel will be a component of the India, Middle East, Africa, and Turkey (IMEA) regional legal team and The Boeing Company's Global Law Affairs group.


A Vice President and Assistant General Counsel oversees the 17 attorneys who make up Global Law Affairs (GLA), which has offices all around the world. The GLA team collaborates closely with U.S.-based Counsel from all functional practice areas and business units within The Boeing Company Law Department. The Legal Counsel will interact with several U.S.-based Law Department attorneys concerning a specific business unit or functional issues and report to the Regional Counsel, who is situated in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Additionally, the Legal Counsel will collaborate closely with the Saudi Arabian Boeing President.


Advisory responsibilities are one of the duties of the position. Responsible for giving guidance and advice on all potential legal matters to the company's business leaders in Saudi Arabia. It will also support associated localization and industrial participation projects in the area, as well as Boeing's Defense, Space and Security, Commercial Aeroplanes, and Global Services (which includes both defense and commercial) companies.


• Administration. Manage a budget for external counsel support and oversee all connections with external counsel for law firms with offices in Saudi Arabia. As a member of the Boeing Saudi Arabia Leadership team.

• M&A and joint ventures. Responsible for arranging local legal counsel on all elements of the aforementioned, including suitable corporate structures, and working with M&A attorneys on planned joint ventures and acquisitions in the region.

• Adherence. In Saudi Arabia, this person is in charge of overseeing the implementation of all company policies that apply, including coordinating them with local legal requirements. They are also accountable for assessing existing compliance mechanisms in relation to U.S. law, Saudi Arabian jurisdictions that are relevant to their work, and any other applicable laws, identifying any new compliance needs, and developing and implementing the necessary processes as needed to comply with those laws.

• Litigation and investigations. It is your responsibility to work with U.S. investigations and litigation counsel to coordinate the legal facets of investigations in Saudi Arabia; you'll also communicate with governmental organizations about legal matters.

• Deputy Management. Discuss corporate governance and registration needs with U.S.-based legal counsel for the company's Saudi Arabian subsidiaries and branch offices.


Employers and Labor. Working with the regional human resources team and counsel headquartered in the United States, responsible for addressing labor and employment issues for all business units in Saudi Arabia. Representative concerns may include labor conflicts, legal requirements for both domestic and foreign hires, compliance with immigration and visa requirements for the latter, problems with termination, and handling temporary employee assignments to foreign locations.

• Leases, contracts, and purchasing. Responsible for counseling business staff, functional staff, and working with the U.S.-based Counsel to coordinate local contracting procedures for matters such as real estate, commercial, non-production, and defense procurement.

• Normative. Responsible for providing business personnel with guidance on regulatory issues in Saudi Arabia and coordinating with U.S.-based Counsel and Boeing's finance department.
